THIRD-PERSON SAMPLE:
Note: This was my third person sample for Somarium.
Having been in Somarium for a little while now, Wendy was finally starting to get used to the concept that she was in a dream world. She still wished she had gotten to spend a bit of time back in her own world, especially since she had just been whisked out of another prior to arriving in Somarium. Wendy could also feel that her magic was not as potent as it was, and having already been in a situation where she lacked magic completely, this worried her a little.
I guess it could be worse, she thought. It's definitely not as unnerving as Edolas was, after all. Magic and world hopping aside, the people here were pretty nice and informative. Wendy learned a lot about this world, about the strange device--or "Dreamberry" as people seemed to call it--she was given (she still couldn't comprehend how it worked without an SE-plug or lacrima to power it), and some of the things that occurred. And though the city was big, it wasn't too hard to navigate, especially after discovering that the Dreamberry had a map of the entire world.
In addition to getting used to Somarium, Wendy had become able to understand the concept that people came from many different worlds. At first, it seemed really unbelievable, as if it were something right out of a fantasy novel. But once Wendy started thinking about how she was asleep back in her own world and had ended up in another world herself, the idea made much more sense. And honestly, it was kind of interesting hearing about other worlds--what life was like on them, how in some worlds the only forms of "magic" that existed were simple illusions, and so forth. It still seemed like something out of a book, but it wasn't too hard to comprehend--perhaps Wendy's visiting Edolas could be thanked for that?
That said, there was still one thing Wendy couldn't understand: How she came from a different point in time from her friends. They mentioned things she had not yet experienced, such as ending up seven years in the future without aging, being attacked and accidentally kidnapped thanks to a guild that had a personal vendetta against Fairy Tail, and even battling someone who could use Sky God Slaying magic in a tournament and tying with her--Wendy didn't think she was that strong, after all. It was pretty unbelievable, but Wendy still requested that she not be told any more details, just in case.
Three questions floated around in her head: First, were her friends from the "future", or was Wendy from the "past"? Second, how were they able to arrive here from different points in time? Finally, why was is that only a few of her friends were here? Wendy had contemplated each question multiple times, but still came up with no answer. She had asked others these questions, too, but the people she asked weren't entirely sure, either. Wendy had thought about finding whoever had the highest position in this world, but she didn't know who they were, or if they even existed as a physical entity.
While those three questions continued to confuse Wendy, one thing was certain: Even though her friends were from a different point in time, the only thing that really changed about them was their magical strength. Wendy could sense they were much more powerful than when she was last with them. But other than that, they were still the same people she knew from the point in time she was taken from. They still had the same quirks, the same interests, and even looked the same. And sure, she would've liked to see Carla--and maybe even Mystogan--here, but it was truly a blessing that she wasn't all alone in this world.
Thinking about that, Wendy smiled. It doesn't matter if they're from a different point in time, or if only a few of them are here. What matters is that they haven't changed, and that they're here with me now.

CHARACTER NAME: Wendy Marvell
SERIES: Fairy Tail; Wendy's History
CANON POINT: Post-Chapter 163
AGE: 12

PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY: N/A
PERSONALITY:
The first and most important thing to know about Wendy is that she is an introvert. Upon first meeting her, someone would likely describe her as "timid" as she tends to stutter and stay quiet. She might also be called "klutzy"--she tends to trip from time to time--or maybe even "lacking in confidence." However, she doesn't keep away from people; instead, Wendy is very friendly toward others and likes making friends. Additionally, her display of timidity and lack of confidence are most prominent when she is outside her comfort zone. Like many introverts, when Wendy's with the people she considers friends (or even friends of her friends), she becomes much more outgoing. Even if she's surrounded by people she doesn't know, so long as one of her friends is by her side, Wendy doesn't come off as timid or confidence-lacking in any way.
Another important trait of Wendy's is that she is very polite. She addresses everyone--most of her friends included--with "-san." She's also very considerate of others--for example, if she injures someone (unless they're the antagonist), she'll apologize and ask if they're all right rather than ignore the fact she injured them. Wendy tends to not argue with others either unless she absolutely feels that what they're saying or doing is wrong. Even if there is evidence from the past to support the other party's argument, she will still try and change their minds.
To complement Wendy's politeness is honesty. For one thing, she is very open about her feelings and thus isn't afraid to express them. No matter if she's happy, angry, or even frightened, she won't try to fake how she feels. Wendy's also not the sort of person who lies to others unless absolutely necessary, in which case she'll tell part of the truth but hide the more important details. Even then, she's seldom lied--the only notable time she did such was to protect a friend whom others portrayed as an antagonist, but she believed was good.
For her age, Wendy is rather intelligent. She can understand more mature situations rather well, and she is quick to catch on to what's happening around her. Every now and then, she will be the one to point out things before her friends even notice whatever she's pointing out. Wendy is also somewhat a fast learner--for example, she used her first offensive magic spell after being told she could use such, despite having grown up believing she could only use supportive magic.
When she was very young, Wendy dealt with abandonment not once, but twice. First, her foster mother abandoned her without warning (it should also be noted that Wendy roughly five years old at the time). Not too long after that, her travel buddy left her with a guild without saying a word to her. Based on these experiences, one would think Wendy has trust issues. In reality, Wendy trusts people very easily, which has sometimes proven to be detrimental for her or her friends. For instance, she revived Jellal on behalf of the antagonist, whom she would've otherwise not helped. Though this later proved to be beneficial, Wendy, having already had trouble deciding whether to revive Jellal or not, blamed herself for reviving him and almost changed allegiance under Nirvana's influence.
To Wendy, friends are very important to her. Without them, she would not have built up as much confidence as she had in such a short time, nor would she also have realized her potential. In addition, if her friends hadn't been there to support her during some situations she was in (such as her foster mother leaving her), Wendy would've likely been very depressed and would take longer to recover from such situations. Likewise, Wendy will always support her friends, even if she puts her life on the line. If she can't support them, or if she believes she did something wrong, she will get very upset and put herself down.
Wendy has been shown to be rather stubborn in battle (especially if she is doing such for her friends) and, to a lesser extent, when she is trying to help. In battle, she has great endurance (a trait common amongst Dragon Slayers) and will not easily yield, even if she has taken a lot of damage. Even if it seems like she has no chance of winning the battle, she will still continue to fight until she wins, if it becomes impossible for her to fight, or if something happens that causes the fight to come to a halt. It's a similar case for helping--even if the other party continues to refuse her help or doesn't believe they need it, she won't stop until she's able to get through to them or if something happens that renders her unable to help.
Battle-wise, Wendy's best at using support magic, which ranges from healing wounds and motion sickness to increasing her or her allies' offense, defense, speed, or a combination of them. Offensively, Wendy's not as strong as the other Dragon Slayers (Natsu, Gajeel, Laxus, or Cobra), but because she's much younger than them, she still has potential. That said, Wendy prefers not to fight and for the most part will stay on the sidelines and assist with her supportive magic whenever necessary. However, Wendy will join the front lines if her allies need assistance, or will even fight alone if necessary. In both cases, she will give it her all.

ABILITIES:
Dragon Slayer General Abilities
-Wendy can eat her own element to restore her energy and enhance her abilities. In Wendy's case, she eats air. Breathing doesn't count--rather, when doing so, one may notice the oxygen around them growing thinner. She also has trouble restoring her energy when eating air in polluted areas.
-She has heightened senses, particularly in smell, sight, and hearing.
Wendy's Skills and Abilities
General:
-She can sense air currents and predict the weather.
-Wendy is pretty durable. She can take plenty of hits and still be able to stand and counterattack.
-To go with her durability is good physical stamina. She can use quite a few spells consecutively and still have enough energy to continue fighting.
---
Offensive:
-Sky Dragon's Roar - Wendy breathes a tornado-like blast at her opponent; it has enough power to destroy a Lacrima crystal.
---
Supportive:
-Sky Dragon's Healing Spell - Wendy uses clean air to heal people, from draining poison from someone who was infected to even reviving people in a near-death state (however, she cannot use it to revive the dead). That said, Wendy cannot use her healing magic on herself (she can, however, cast her other supportive spells on herself).
-Troia - Cures motion sickness; the effect runs out after a while. If used too often on somebody, that person will develop an immunity to it and thus Troia will no longer work on them.
-Arms - Increases the target's damage output for a short period of time.*
-Armor - Increases the target's defense for a short period of time.*
-Vernier - Increases the target's movement speed for a short period of time.*
-Raise - Cancels magic that affects Wendy's or others' bodies.
-Re-Raise - Protects Wendy from any anomaly effect magic targeted at her.
*These three spells can be combined with one another, and they still keep their effects. For example, Arms x Vernier increases targets' damage output and movement speed, and Arms x Armor x Vernier increases their damage output, defense, and movement speed.
